Has anyone with an ileostomy dealt with nonstop nausea?

I'm so sorry you are having this problem. I haven't had issues, and when I hear about others having nausea it is usually in connection with an obstruction. However the nausea in those cases is more immediate and does not continue at a lower level for an extended period like yours.

Putting aside the ostomy, is there any reason to think it might be acid reflux? Although I don't know why that might affect output.

Also, I presume you didn't have any recent changes in diet?

And have you ever had any problems with food allergies?

I hope you find some answers and quickly.

Actually, my GP and ostomy nutritionist both suspected “silent” reflux and recommended Pepsid AC 20mg in the morning an hour before I eat and I just started that regimen just 3 days ago and no difference so far but my GP said it could take a week to help so I’m holding out hope that it will help the nausea. However, that does not address the lower output I’ve been having for a week or so. No diet changes; no food allergies and no new medications except the addition of Pepsid and Atarax as needed to help control the nausea. I’m just praying I get answers this morning from my gastro dr and PRAY this is not any kind of obstruction!! Been there, done that! And never want to go through that again!!
