Thank you so much for your posts. My husband will have prosectomy surgery at Mayo Phoenix Hospital next week. The Care Team has been amazing- so communicative, kind and supportive. We have been together 50 years and have always had excellent health, so this is new for us. He's 71 and very active and my concern is that he'll want to do too much too soon after surgery. We live 2 hours away and will be staying down in the area a couple of nights after the surgery before driving home. All of your comments have encouraged me and I'm so grateful.

Keeping them from doing too much is a challenge. Once the catheter was out he started feeling better and wanted to increase our little walks. He just physically can’t do much & gets overtired.
We also stayed overnight after surgery and drove home (2hrs also) at daybreak. I made some homemade soups & froze them so I’d have a quick meal ready.
This site has been very helpful & supportive. Best Wishes!
