Autoimmune Hepatitis and remission?
I'm curious if anyone has achieved remission, and for how long, with autoimmune hepatitis and if so what their treatment plan was. Also, how are you monitored when in remission? Bloodwork? Self-monitoring?

I had chronic hepatitis C and I got rid of it but it did take a toll on my liver I had it for over 30 years before there was a cure at first when I got rid of it had no side effects and now ugh it's overwhelming.I maybe able to offer a few suggestions but if you don't mind is it B/C and how long do you think you have had it?
4 years after diagnosis but I suspect I’ve had it much longer
I was diagnosed at 29 and I am 56 and now all the health problems are going on w/liver so as soon as you can get treatment the faster you do better the outcome good luck

Wow you have been through so much I have this liver problem which has gone to my kidneys but you have endured a lot just wanted to say good luck and I am happy that you're last medication is working.
I'm not a doctor but my daughter is a drinker and she was told she had autoimmune hepatitis and I believe if she would have stayed off the alcohol she could probably reguvinat her liver eat healthy, exercise, spiritually all the good stuff unfortunately she doesn't want to but back to that question the answer is yes but it depends on how much damage it did good luck
Thank you for the well wishes and the same for you. 🙂
I am sorry to hear about your daughter, I wish she would listen to you and her doctor. All the best to you and for your daughter, I hope that one day soon she realizes what she is doing and changes her life for the better. Best of luck to you both.
Hi, I have been living with AIH since 2009. I go in and out of remission here and there. Usually when my numbers would start to shake over the years they would adjust my medication and they would fall into place within a few months. But the last time I was out of remission was for a year and a half and it was a living hell it got so bad. I’ve been back in remission about a year and a half again. Of course I sit here and type this as my liver feels like someone is squeezing it….bad day! Ugh but this disease is certainly not one that’s easily lived with.
Of course I have an additional 6 other autoimmune diseases so it’s difficult period. It’s like multiple personality disorder lol but with illnesses and they don’t like to play together that’s for sure!
