Face lift worth it?

I have always wanted a lower blepharoplasty. For the last several decades the lower kids have been getting progressively more swollen. I haven't done it because I'm afraid of the pain and recovery but also because I feel like it's all in the name of vanity. Was it super painful on lower kids?

I didn’t experience any pain with any of my eyelid procedures. It was a little uncomfortable during my second surgery on upper only, as I was supposed to have light sedation, but it didn’t work….or something, so from the operating table I asked them for local, which they did. My revision on one eye was done in the office with just local about a month later. It was not painful.

The healing of my lower lids wasn’t painful to me at all. I would describe it as a little uncomfortable. It feels swollen, tight….but ice applied regularly helps a lot. I took 1-2 pain pills the day of the procedure just as a precaution and then just Tylenol.

I will say that the lower lid is quite sensitive after it heals. When you apply mascara, it feels odd. It took a while for my lower lashes to grow back. I don’t regret it, HOWEVER, I think the modern approach to eyelid rejuvenation is different than it was years ago. I think they now add fat and not remove it. I’m no expert, but I’d get a consult with a plastic surgeon to get their opinion. Good luck!

Totally pain free. Minor bruising. 2 times for me over the years.
