Sugestion for good walking shoes for a 90-plus-year-old?
Am reluctant to walk as much as I probably should. Am 93 and in good general health but quite fearful of possiblly falling. I feel that if I had a pair of sturdy walking shoes I would be inclined to walk much more. Any suggstions?

Brooks is a quality brand and great reputation. Always worth trying out. Plus they have an excellent return policy. I think 90 days full refund, even if you wear the shoe! In my opinion though they used to make higher quality shoes, like most other manufacturers used to.

1 ReactionI am 83 and have a wide foot and high arches. I wear Hoka Gaviotas and also Altra brand, their Lone Pine Model. I also use ABEO insoles with the metatarsul bump .
Alta brand is known for no drop from heel to toe, wide toe box.
yes they are very good for walking I was a nurse and wore them. But now am older and they are quite expensive, as you should only wear them for walking daily atleast 6 mos for getting another pair. That is what most recommend. for me itis the price. but thanks for the advice appreciate it.

1 Reaction@ciddy1931 I have many feet issues and have had three surgeries, one of which was reconstructive. I over pronate, have fallen arches, fat pad atrophy and a bunion. I find that having custom made orthotics helps significantly, my podiatrist made in his lab. I wear Brooks Adrenaline from morning until night, they offer great support. At night I wear Vionic slide sandals for surpport (get up several times nightly). I might suggest visiting a good sports shoe store that can fit you for a good shoe. Fleet Feet is one store that is good as they will watch you walk and do an analysis on what shoe would be best for you specifically.
