@delavan, how did the cystoscopy go? What is the next step in your treatment plan?

I just got my ct scan back, it shows a mass in the bladder 2.9 cm. I have been peeing blood and blood clots for a few weeks.

It appears that you will be traveling down the road of a TURBT (transurethral resection of a bladder tumor). It is an out-patient procedure. I had my first TURBT in October. I had a cystoscopy on Wednesday that disclosed two new tumors. I had a TURBT to resect them yesterday. Not a lot of post operative pain. Some discomfort from the Foley Catheter, which will be removed Monday. Don’t hesitate to have the tumor excised. Move with all reasonable haste. Good luck!

Two new papillary tumors on the prostate. Not invasive. Tumors resected and affected area fulgurated yesterday. Doctor explained no prior BCG because of “worldwide shortage.” I now qualify for some form of post operative therapy. To be discussed a meeting with physician. I was hoping to qualify for adstiladrin. But a condition precedent to receiving it is a demonstration to receiving it is a demonstration that BCG is not effective. I hope I am not in a Catch 22 situation.

I had the camera thing today, I have the TURBT tomorrow.

Good luck. It’s a relatively short procedure. It may take an additional day or two to receive the surgical pathology report. That, in large part, drives treatment decisions. I received my surgical pathology report today with results from the TURBT that I underwent last Friday. I will undergo chemotherapy after the wounds are healed. At least my doctor now has a game plan. Hope to hear how things go for you. I am a person of faith. I will say a prayer for you. Best.

I received word today that I will be administered intravesical therapy in the form of Gemcitibine/Docetraxel chemotherapy. Inductive therapy will occur over a six week period. Chemo will be administered once a week. I am then going to receive chemo once a month for two years. If anyone who has gone through this therapy could share their experience with it, especially side effects and long term effects, it would be greatly appreciated.
