Testosterone low, what treatments are there
Recently my doctor tested me and found low testosterone. I was wondering what treatments other men followed?
I see there are various over the counter supplements for sale.
I read about testosterone injections.
What has others tried or been recommended or prescribed? How did it go afterwords.

I, too, would be very interested as well. My libido is very low. I would love to be able to experience strong sexual desire and possibly even climax. I don't know if ED pills also help with libido. What good is being able to become hard if you have no real feelings? Looking forward to others' experiences.
You can try one of the Nugenix supplements and see if it helps but I don't believe there is any clinical evidence to show that it actually increases testosterone levels. If your measured testosterone level is low, then you can pursue testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The prescription gel you rub into your shoulders (Androgel) is probably the easiest way to go but some people prefer injections. What treatment plan did your doctor recommend?
My urologist gives me an AVEEDA shot once every 3 months. It helps. Suggest you ask an MD. It is a prescribed drug, not self administered
chas24, what is the cost of these injections. I have taken the pellets and I had to pay out of pocket and I was wondering how effective AVEEDA was and the cost? Thank you
My remedy of choice for midlife is DHEA.
It is available OTC as a 25 mg capsule. It is the
building block to produce androgen. Not available
without prescription in all countries. Helps with
maintenance of fitness as it is a natural hormone that
declines as we age.
Thanks. Was not familiar with DHEA, and blood test Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S). I am going to ask my Endocrinologist.
My injections are covered by Medicare. I suggest you ask yout MD. If you are concerned about ED then try Trimix - not covered but not too expensive per shot.
Thanks I will keep it in mind.
Before u begin any treatment highly recommend u see an Endocrinologist and look for problems with pituitary gland and hypothalamus. It’s a long shot but these tell your body to make testosterone. Once you begin treatment it’s too late to correct these problems that might be the root cause.
