I have tried so many anti depressants and left me with severe side effects? The side effects almost are worse than my problems. Anyone take and success? Side effects?

Check your prescription again. I think perhaps you have mistaken milligram for gram. You probably have been prescribed 1 mg for sleep at night.
My psychiatrist wants me to start on Zoloft but only 1/2 of a 25 mg tablet which would be 12.5 mg daily. I am so very sensitive to medication and feel the side of effects of dizziness and drowsiness have concerned me. I just got off Eliquis after spending 8 months having 3-4 dizzy spells/day and horrendous vertigo....lost the whole year of 2024 until I finally found research documentation, case studies that showed that patients on warfarin who are changed to Eliquis often have these side effects. Stopped the Eliquis in 8/6/24 and haven't been dizzy since.
So leery about any medication. Zoloft Tablets are scored so that you may take smaller doses....I would let your PCP know that is what you are doing though so that there is a level playing field
You are correct. I did mean mg.
Do you know the answer to the question?
I recall last year when I was having issues the psych started me on 12.5 mg. every day. Since the Zoloft 25 mg tablets are scored it is very easy to half. Even with that I experienced sleepines for almost two weeks then tried taking it at night and was not getting the relief I needed so I just quit. I am very sensitive to medications, either my system or because of my size. I'm only 5' and weight 92 lbs. so probably need pediatric doses. 😉
No need for forgiveness, just making sure that everyone is on the same page.😁 it is so easy to get the names mixed up on all of these meds.
I am glad you are doing well on an as needed medication.
I have been taking Zoloft for a long time with excellent results. My doctors tried to change me to a different drug, so that I could try a different cancer drug, I eventually said stop after two years of not being stable emotionally. I went back on Zoloft and again I am very happy with this medication.
Thank you!
I'm twitchy and have anxiety attacks.thats why I'm here. I'd like to learn from others with similar issues.
No need to apologize! Just wanted to make sure you were not taking 1 gram! It can get very confusing if you've not been in health care.......grams, milligrams, mcgs etc. That may be a question for your PCP. Zoloft (Sertraline)
side effects can be drowsiness and dizziness. The package insert suggests altering the time of day that you take it based on whether you experience the side effects. What dosage did the PCP start you on? The lowest dose to begin with is always in my opinion the best until you know how the medication with effect you. Zoloft comes in 25 mg tablet which are scored so it would be easy to 1/2 the tablet and start with 12.5 mg every day. That certainly is a discussion to have with your practitioner first though!
Right. If you are taking 1 gm that would be 10 1mg tablets. Pretty sure you arent.
