Hello. I recommend you get help with respite care. There are many agencies that provide this service. Sometimes private or Medicare insurance will offer this to the caretaker of the insured. Good luck , and yes care for yourself, It’s easy to neglect your own health, physical and mental when caring for a dementia patient. Remember if you are not well, you won’t be able to help anyone…please receive a big bear hug from me. And let me tell you how blessed your husband is for having you as his mate.

You have got to get help if he wants it or not. You are burned out and he doesn’t mean to be disrespectful but he is. Even if a neighbor can come for a couple of hours so you can breathe. He doesn’t realize how lucky he is to have you. He would be in an assisted living place without you. My husband is doing well enough now that I don’t need the help but there was a point I was begging the doctors to admit him for his very out of control dementia. He had cdiff at that point and drs didn’t understand what I was going through til they saw him and did admit him for that. So I got a break then. Maybe something medically is going on that causes him to be so rude. Please take care of yourself somehow. Call Dr for programs. Yes the Dr only see our husbands in the office for a minute and boy are they good at fooling people. I have said before I also call ahead of appointments to let them know the true story. Hang in there. Hugs and prayers.
