Afraid of coming to Mayo, but I need a diagnosis

They listen to you and give you a voice in your own care. I never felt like I was being treated as a guinea pig or a number at Mayo. Not one doctor or department I was referred to for testing ignored me as a patient. When they talk to you they look at you, they hear you and they are not closed off to suggestions or questions from a patient. They truly have patient care at the top of the list.

I too must post my enthusiasm for Mayo Clinic. I have been a patient at Mayo Jacksonville since 2006. I watched it grow from just Davis building to a hospital) and a dozen other buildings built since then.

I have the same heart failure and EP doctors that I saw in 2006. We have grown old together.

What I really love is when one specialist wants to do a new medication, they will say I have checked with your other medical providers, and they concur with the recommendation. They have what the call team approach to care. Their motto is "Patients First."

I also like the fact that I can have lab and x-rays done in the morning and when at an appointment in the afternoon the results are there.

The only drawback to Mayo 2006 and Mayo 2025 is the growth. If you go in the mornings, make extra time to find a parking space.

I am not a rich man, but I am a member of Legacy Program at Mayo Clinic and will be leaving a donation on death in my will. I donate to Mayo Clinic almost every month. One of my favorites is the Samaritan Fund. This fund is set up for those who do not have insurance to come to Mayo Clinic.

I love, love Mayo I had a health issue, the Doctors work together so well. Some people may prolong their stay long after recovery. Because it's beautiful with chandeliers, the Dietary personal they are friendly they dress like upscale restaurants personal.Food is good too. My opinion if you have an illness, other hospital or Doctors can't seem to get to the root of it Mayo is where you want to go. I Thank Mayo for helping me

I went to the Mayo Clinic 2x in 2019. A close friend went with me as my advocate. It was a wonderful experience considering why I was there. I wanted to know what was wrong so I could be prepared for what was to come. Can you take someone with you as your advocate? I highly recommend them. The team of doctors I was assigned were wonderful. After a week there I went back for radiation on a brain tumor. They have kept in touch with me ever since. I have many unexplainable health issues that none of my local specialist can explain. Best wishes for you.
