Anyone tried Gabapentin for Fibromyalgia?
I've had fibromyalgia for almost two years. Each flare seems to get progressively worse. I'm trying to figure out what medication to try with the least amount of side effects and withdrawal issues. Has anyone tried Gabapentin? If so, what was your experience?

I can’t use gabapentin because I swell up too much but I do use Lyrica for my fibromyalgia and it works wonders for me and I am on the lowest I can possibly be on
Would not recommend Gabapentin I had some scary side effects. I have noticed others on here have too. Everyone is different, but that’s my opinion
What is your dose of Lyrica? What symptoms does it help with? Thanks.
I've been on Gabapentin for fibro for 5+ years (300mg twice a day) for joint and muscle pain. I don't have any negative side-effects and have not had a bad flare in 5 years--a little neck/shoulder blade ache some evenings, but Tylenol takes care of that.
BUT I was diagnosed with Sjogrens in 2006 (extremely dry mouth). Until recently that had resolved itself, but since Covid in 2023, my doctors think the Sjogrens is affecting my eyes, lungs, and kidneys. Apparently what we've been treating as Fibro might be a Sjogrens manifestation!
I use Gabapentin at night and I can sleep without any pain or movement. I find that I only need 300 to 600 mg per night.
Hi. what are the side effects you exxperienced from Gabapentin?
Thanks
I’ve been on Gabapentin for probably over a year now. 1800mg a day. Works well as far as I have better movement, not severe pain but I have another spinal condition too. It doesn’t seem to do anything for muscle stiffness though. I don’t know about it helping chronic fatigue either. This high dose can make you tired which can add to the fatigue I already have so it’s hard to know how it’s affecting that. Not bad side effects. I tolerate it well.
Gabapentin caused damage to my teeth and I eventually lost them all. It was right at the start of the pandemic and I could not see a dentist. I developed a terrible bacterial infection and suffered with many abscesses. Now I only take Cymbalta and Lyrica.
I worked up to 1200 a night and all it has done is make me really woozy and it does help me but it does not help me actually go to sleep. I combine it with THC and that helps.
I use THC drops and they are about the same as RSO. I use the CBD:THC 1:20
