Pharmacy refusing to fill Iyuveh prescription
I developed an allergy to the preservatives in latanoprost, which I have been using to lower eye pressure. My doctor prescribed Iyuveh, a preservative free form of latanoprost, but my local Walgreen's pharmacy refuses to fill my prescription for Iyuveh. I called the customer service for Walgreen's, but they said there was nothing that could be done. Has anyone else run into this problem with Iyuveh or any other type of glaucoma medication?

Possibly because there isn't a generic or the insurance reimbursement is inadequate. Did you ask them the reason they don't fill that medicine?

Yes, and their answer was that their distributor doesn't carry it.
scpartain, Ask them if another one of their pharmacies carry it or if they would be gracious enough to find a pharmacy for you who does? There has to be a pharmacy in your area that carries it.
Happy New Year and praying for you.
There’s a difference between refusing to fill it and being unable to fill it because they don’t or can’t stock it for whatever reason. Call the other pharmacies in your area to find out who does carry it, or who would be able to order it for you. If nobody in your area does, maybe you could contact the manufacturer to see who they supply. Maybe it is a difficult product to get or maybe it is in short supply. That happens more often since COVID.
Thanks for your comment. I can get it from the grocery store pharmacy. I called Walgreen's customer service and they said to ask the pharmacy manager to special order the drug.
Thanks for your reply. I called the Walgreens's customer service and they said to ask the pharmacy manager to special order the drug. I can also get it from a grocery pharmacy.
scpartain, That's wonderful and an answer to prayer! Happy New Year to you and yours.
Is there another pharmacy in your area you can bring your script to? Or call your physician explain the difficulty your having. God Bless
Not sure this is a prayer issue - just logistics, purchasing, and potentially insurance.
I would ask for recommendation for a non-chain pharmacy. There are still pharmacists that you can develop a relationship with. Chain pharmacies are only good for flu shots.
