Shockwave or Softwave Therapy for Neuropathy Pain?

Has anyone tried Shockeaves or Softwaves for neuropathy pain? If so, did it help?

@bettyg81pain ,

I have had 5 Shockwave treatments. My neuropathy goes haywire when I have a major allergy event. I can usually get in to my PT within a couple of days for the treatment. So. Much better! The neuropathy is not totally gone but it is so much improved! If I did a treatment plan, I might be in a better place, but, I am happy with my feet as they are. They hum along until I do something stupid.

I also: go to a cranial sacral PT I have Trigeminal Neuralgia,
Try to reduce sugar (I have been on an absolute no sugar diet for something else and so no real difference in my neuropathy),
Exercise, not enough, but I try
Breathing exercises.

Hi,

I have a treatment at a Physical Therapy office. The cost varies, if you sign up for 8 or more it is less than $50.00 per session. This treatment greatly reduces my pain from Neuropathy. It is not a cure. It is a treatment. I do not know the machine's manufacturer as I have not cared.

I have had 5 Shockwave treatments. My neuropathy goes haywire when I have a major allergy event. I can usually get in to my PT within a couple of days for the treatment. So. Much better! I forgot to mention that I do the 'Happy Feet' yoga video (what I can) and massage my feet in the morning and at night.

I have posted about this before but am happy to chime in. I did 12 or 13 shock wave sessions last winter at a chiropractic/PT office along with some other therapies. Unfortunately I did not notice an appreciable difference. I also have a red light unit that I use at night for an hour which seems to alleviate some tingling at night. It is hard to say for sure but I notice when I stopped the red light over the summer my symptoms came back in full force.

Hi Betty,
I ordered the anondyne 120 home unit, came with easy to apply velcro pads. It comes with 4 pads that fit pretty much any body area. It is the same unit the chiropractors use as part of their "treatment protocol" that can cost thousands of dollars with no proven outcomes. My unit was around $900 but I think you can find them on ebay etc...

I have been trying to find a Dr. that does Shockwave Therapy in Atlanta-the only place I called sounded like a backroom operation. What type of clinic did you find that did that particular therapy.
Also, another place here advertises Softwave Therapy-anyone familiar with that??

There is one in Canton, GA ... reasonably priced at Gentle Force Chiropractic. My hubby has been trying it with pretty good results. He has been trying it for arthritis in joints ... hip and shoulder.

Has anyone tried either soft wave or shockwave therapy for neuropathy? I am researching it as an option for dealing with my neuropathy. I live in the DC area and there appear to be several practices (mostly chiropractors or PT places.)
