Nostril l stents

Has anyone had nostril stents put in their nose and if so what were the results?

@tjmarcotte Can you tell us if the stents would be inserted in conjunction with sinus surgery, or is the ENT proposing to try it instead of surgery?

Certainly there is a way to make your nostrils more patent than sticking stints up your nose. Invasive type of procedures I am always wary of mostly due to the introduction of bacteria. Never heard of nasal stints before. This has given me a mission for the day.

It has been an accepted procedure for roughly 20 years.

@tjmarcotte -

Just remember if you see a surgeon you will be offered surgery or procedures.

Be cautious and address all other aspects of your health as the body is entirely connected.

Don’t allow a “specialist” to only put you in their one “scope” of practice.

Thank you and I stand corrected! Those stints to my understanding are to decrease inflammation after the procedure and will eventually dissolve. Learn something new every day!

No worries! I learn something new here every single day!
I wish they had the stents back when I had sinus surgery. Instead it was (what seemed like) miles of gauze packed in there that was removed little by little over the first several weeks and it was a miserable process.
