Glued wound swollen a week after.

@jdmdev1225 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I haven't had any wounds glued shut, but my thought leads toward the fact the serous fluids that would normally be able to be released, cannot get out. So there might be a pocket of fluids there? Any underlying scar tissue might be preventing that release, and creating the bump and pressure.

Does this sound plausible to you? What was the reasoning to go with glue rather than stitches? You say this was after a range incident. Perhaps clearing a semi-automatic pistol and slide caught you, tearing up the side of your index finger?

I'm not to sure. As I mentioned it was perfectly fine until I'd say Christmas day it started swelling up a bit. And Christmas Eve I took the tape off that they put over the glue. I just can't afford another visit to urgent care so im just making sure it's nothing serious.
I went with glue because needles and stitches scare me, I've never been good with needles so I just went the better route in my head.
What happened is I placed my thumb in the wrong position and when I shot my gun the slide came back and cut it open.
