@broken13 Evista is a SERM - Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator. It is not an estrogen but acts like an estrogen - it binds to estrogen receptors selectively in the body, either mimicking or blocking the effects of estrogen depending which tissues are involved. For those of us who are at higher risk of breast cancer, it's a good substitute for HRT since it prevents breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Its antiresorptive effect is mild to moderate when compared to fosamax or reclast. Ive considered using it but opted for hrt in the end. It's very nice that you used it for 5 years with success 🙂

Thank you Mayblin for your reply and knowledge! Which HRT therapy did you opt for instead? I do NOT want to use. I know doctors prefer recast or fosamax after Forteo and now Evenity, but that lessens the benefit of Forteo or Tymlos if you should have to take it again. I am nervous about Evenity because of my reaction to Prolia and the side effects mentioned. One doctor on sequencing actually suggested only 4 months of Evenity, as after that it acts more like Prolia. It seems such a hit and miss journey.
