Does anyone know if Evista (Raloxifene ) is considered hormone replacement? That's what I took after Forteo and for the most part, did the trick for 5 years.

@broken13 Evista is a SERM - Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator. It is not an estrogen but acts like an estrogen - it binds to estrogen receptors selectively in the body, either mimicking or blocking the effects of estrogen depending which tissues are involved. For those of us who are at higher risk of breast cancer, it's a good substitute for HRT since it prevents breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Its antiresorptive effect is mild to moderate when compared to fosamax or reclast. Ive considered using it but opted for hrt in the end. It's very nice that you used it for 5 years with success 🙂
