Hi. What exercises do you do? I was introduced to Thomas Hanna's somatic movement by a physical therapist about 3 years ago. Regular physical therapy (strengthening) seemed to be making me worse. My muscles was so "tight" (taunt). So I've been learning about Thomas Hanna's somatic movement and that seems to momentarily help more than anything else I have tried. I am able to mix a bit of shoulder, back strengthening exercises in...at the moment just testing things out. Trying to find a research program that will study me because either I have advanced into a severe mode of fibro...I need them to take a closer look as to what's going on with me.

@thecomfycouchcafe What a great ‘name’ you’ve selected!Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect ! Does Thomas Hanna have a YouTube channel in case members would like to check out his exercises?

I have the tight muscles also. If I build up slowly the muscles don't seem to get as tight but anytime I do too much exercise out of the ordinary they tighten up. Then massage and/or time get them to relax. Thanks for the tip about somatic movement. Sometimes I go dancing and I find that to be beneficial.

nothing has ever helped me. I just have to wait it out with my regular meds.
