Any suggestions for expelling tenacioius mucus plugs?

I use distilled water rather than tap water because some of the bacteria that causes MAC can be found in tap water.

Thanks for your thoughts and I would understand your concerns about the cold tap water.
My understanding, per the microbiologist Dr. Falkinham, it is best also to boil the distilled water, or even spring water, because we can't always be sure it is free of bacteria. The cold tap water side, being that the water is not heated via the hot water tank etc. etc. doesn't have much, bacteria in it. However boiling it, cold tap water, to near to 200 degrees will kill any bacteria in it or any other water....distilled, purified, spring water and cold tap water. I boil all waters.
