Did you perform therapy as required? I M preparing for knee surgery by doing 40 leg lifts 3 times a day as well as heel slides (sitting and sliding the heel of my foot forward with toes towards the ceiling). I M 80 yrs of age. Therapy for you may be quite different. Consult with your physician and/or therapist.

Hi firefly,

All the best for your upcoming surgery. Are you getting a TKR?

Pre-hab is a great idea. One other suggestion - practice pulling your foot in towards the chair when seated (ideally on a hard floor and in socks). This will help with flexion. The exercise you do, sliding your foot away is also good and referred to extension. Ideally, flexion should be 120 degrees or greater while the goal for extension is 0 degrees (kneenis locked and straight).

All the best to you! Joe
