Hi,
I admit I'm playing Russian roulette with my life. Tired of people and Doctors making judgments about health issues they know little about. I know I maybe shortening my life but so be it, some sort of comfort beats very little comfort as far as I'm concerned.
Just checked my stats and as expected they are going high, but not as high as I anticipated after being tempted with the see-food diet! If I can keep the stats at this level into the new year there might be some hope of an extended off meds regime. Fingers crossed and back to basics.
Cheers

Fingers crossed.🤞🏼
I say if you can stay off meds even for just a little while, it's a good thing. I've taken myself off some meds for a while and, of course, had to go back on them. But I felt so much better physically and mentally for that brief period of time.
And you are right, sometimes the docs don't seem to know what they're talking about. For most of the meds I take docs told me I had to take them for the rest of my life (other than short-term meds like antibiotics). But, several years ago, I took myself off of one of them and when I went back to the doc she asked me who took me oof of the drug. I told her that I took myself off. She didn't seem too thrilled about that but I can tell you that I never went back on it, I never had any further "flare ups," and my lab numbers that had gotten me put on the drug are all within range. This has been years! I wonder if one of the reason docs often say the meds are for life is because they have stocks in the pharmaceutical companies. Who knows?
Stay well, @cheyne, and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
