I've been diagnosed with FM, CF, for 27 years and had to work until 2014. I coped with Methadone. It was the only pain killer that didnt affect my kidney I lost in 1999 because of a tumor that turned out benign. The surgeons thought my overuse of Ibuprofen might had caused it. That's when my nephrologist said NO MORE ANTI -INFLAMMATORY medicines except maybe an aspirin occasionally. That's when I had to find something else...methadone.
Then, this year the tables turned. My sister talked me into moving near her. My husband died in 2010. Then my only child died in 2013. That's the main reason for retirement. I couldn't cope with the job and the grief.
When I moved to the Galveston area, I started going to a new doctor. I was tested for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme Disease.
After 27 years, the lab report lit up like a neon sign. The numbers showed I have had these two diseases for way over 20 years. I remember when the aching and fever came. The fever left after 24-48 hrs, but everything else stayed. I thought it was a bad flu. I had never had the flu before. Now, since Sept. 2018 I have been on Doxycycline 2 x daily, am & pm. I'm still taking the methadone because not much has changed yet. Just got another month's worth of the Doxycycline yesterday. I hope it starts working soon.
But, to answer your question, finally. YES, depression is something I fought since 1991. Then when my son died in 2013 the depression became much worse. I almost gave up in Sept of this year. My sister found me after overdosing. I spent one night in the hospital. I am much better right now, but the grief will never go away. I miss my son, my best friend, so very much. I cant see anything taking that away..
You take care. Maybe talk to your doctor about those two diseases and some labs are equipped now to test for them. My lab was Lab Corp. Some labs are not equipped.
