What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

Darned right! During the first year after my stage-4 diagnosis (at age 56), I was reluctant to think more than a few months ahead. I'd get a replacement credit card and start crying, thinking I wouldn't be around on its expiry date. 😕
Now I'm 60, and actively planning for life after 65. If I'm wrong, I'll deal with it.

8 ReactionsI choose Joy instead of happiness, I rejoiced not in my circumstances but in who God is within the circumstances.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, and his mercies never come to an end they are new every morning; great is his faithfulness.
The free gift of Gods grace is amazing!

9 ReactionsI was able to celebrate Christmas Eve with all of my immediate family. I was strong enough to assemble two pans of lasagna for the meal. I have much gratitude for my cancer team at Mayo and the research medicine.
