i stuck a penny up my nostril 6+ years ago, what should i do?
i accidentally stuck a penny up my nose 6+ years ago (i was around 12) whilst just fiddling it near my nose. long story short, it ended up stuck. i never told anybody out of embarrassment.
i’ve had a cold recently, and i’ve stupidly been logging tissues up both my nostrils, however i believe i’ve accidentally moved that penny somehow and now i can barely breathe out of said nostril.
for more context, it was painful for a while, but i ignored most of the pain out of embarrassment, and eventually i just forgot it was there, as i could not feel anything. i’ve done my share of feeling around inside my nostril with a tissue, and from what i can tell i have no idea where the penny is lodged. i can not feel anything metal either, just skin.
what would have even happened to the penny after being lodged inside my nostril for so long? is it even possible to remove at that point? should i just let it be?

The nose is a surprisingly deep space that extends beyond the cavity that you can see. Please contact your doctor and tell them what is going on. If you are experiencing pain or have infection, go to the emergency department.
Please see an ENT. Stuff happens. Don’t be embarrassed! Go asap!
