Senile purpura
Hi
I developed this condition 3 years ago and when they took me off of my cholesterol medication. My arms cleared up.I had to go back on crestor and my arms are a mess. I have found that since I finished radiation treatment in April. It is a lot worse. I do the arnica cream and homeopathic pill and the retinol. I am starting a light therapy in January. That puts the collogin in your skin and helps strengthen it. Fingers crossed if helps. I hate this.

I don’t have that skin condition, but I’m intrigued by the collagen replacement. Where do you have it done?
Hi
It's at medical aesthetic clinic. It's called Ipl.
Light (IPL) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses light pulses to treat a variety of skin conditions:
I have senile purpura and the largish purple spots sometimes cover my forearms and even open and bleed. I do not believe there is anything that can be done other than to wear arm covers. Of course let us know of you find something that helps.
Hi
I definitely will let you know how it goes.
@sue417 I did 5 years of letrozole for breast cancer, which reduced estrogen levels in my body to undetectable levels. I believe that thinned my skin!
Hi
Yes thise drugs are brutal. I did not take them. Too hi risk I already have osteopenia with a compression fracture. It sucks My Dr never did a bone density Because she did not think I was high.Risk so much for that. Menopause is brutal.
@sue417 I am still alive 10 years after my cancer and am grateful for letrozole, personally! I already had pretty severe osteoporosis and some fractures but addressing cancer was a priority for me. We all make different decisions.
Hi
Yes it's a personal choice. I was stage 0 so my oncologist agreed
Two dermatologist said now it is called solar rather than senile. Senile sounds negative & ugly and solar due to being in the sun which causes it. I’m also told there is no cure but it will go away. It does NOT. However I just had a procedure in the hospital where pressure was put on my chest and now it’s all over my chest. I protect my legs & never do they see sun. I have large dark purple areas in the sock area going up my leg in smaller marks. It comes & goes. I cover my arms, legs & even my face (with sunscreen). I am told it is due to thin skin in the elderly (I hate that word also) and being in the sun. I take a blood thinner also. OTC products claiming to remove bruises do not work. I’ve tried them all.
Hi
May I ask your age and when this started?Mine started when I hit sixty three. I am.
Sixty six. Well i'm going to do the light therapy And if it works to improve the Collagen in my arms then great. I will buy my own. Arnica does help fade the spots also a good vitamin c.
