@oregongirl

I just did that this past be June. I sorted out things I wanted to keep and then threw most of that away. I actually gave all of it to my church. I am surprised my church did not send me a mental health expert. I gave away antiques and things I won't mention here that had great value. I was moving to Texas for better health care. Many times I have opened cupboards for something I no longer own. I slowly am replacing things but by they are junk next to what I had. I think I was so physically hurting and thought I would surely die and my poor kids WD be stuck with things none of them want. I hear you and someone needed to rescue be us. Lol

Ladies when I sold are home in Pa I got rid of alot of things I wished I'd kept ,moved into a mobile home 9yrs later sold it to move to Calif near my son,s family regret getting rid of things now 3 times have done same thing ,once had things in storage ,bad idea but found things missing when I finally settled here in my Sr.apt.Oh well such is life ,right.

@lioness @oregongirl @parus My husband retired from the Navy with 30 years of service so I was used to moving a good deal. I too have given or tossed things away in the name of downsizing. Then when I finally am moved in to my 'forever' home, I am looking for things I gave away! The silly things we do!

That's for sure,it now we b not bad them or the money

Hi!
My hubby and I have moved many times over our 40+ years of marriage. I have become an expert in packing and unpacking. I can pack up a house very quickly!
We are now in what I believe will be our last home (until we can no longer take care of ourselves). When we moved this last time, my husband had to do all the packing. He purged like crazy. Anything we didn't use in a period of time he got rid of. He unpacked. Now, when I look for something, I knew we had, it is gone (because he got rid of it) or he put it somewhere I can't find it.
Guess I cannot complain. He is a God sent.

@oregongirl No one did. Moving to a more agreeable climate is not an option. That was what happened to me. I did not want my children to deal with anymore than necessary-it is a parent thing and seems to be more of a mom thing for some of us. Folks here likely thought I was moving. I still don't know how I did all of it. I even packed up anything left to help them more. I was even walking to the grocery for food. I surely looked a fright!!! Lost 50 lbs. and looked like death on a horse eating a cracker. I have come close to doing the same thing...hopefully I learned this time!!!! Looking back I can now see some humor.

I moved for better medical care. My doctor had a questionnaire background for treating anything above a cold. My area was beautiful for a person in good health
