Just a quick update about my consultation for Histotripsy. I visited IR doctor at UChicago Medical Center, and the doctor used a portable Ultrasound device to check the positions of my tumors. The conclusion was that it is not suitable for me, since the tumors are located behind my ribs, which block the ultrasound to reach the tumors. The doctor recommended Y90 to me instead. Does anyone have a recommendation for the good hospital for Y90 procedure, or there is not much difference between hospitals? Thanks in advance!

Hello @jiangmx24,

I appreciate your update regarding the consultation for Histotripsy. It sounds like you received a new treatment option.

Your question about the best hospital for this procedure is an important one to consider. Generally, speaking multi-disciplinary medical systems like Mayo Clinic or a university medical school are good options. These types of health care institutions are generally research-oriented and have good techniques for special procedures. If you would like an appointment at Mayo Clinic here is a link with appointment information, http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63.

Here are some discussions on Mayo Clinic about the Y-90 treatment for tumors in the liver.

I would be interested in learning how you proceed with this decision. Will you continue to post as you make a decision?
