Sounds good that you found what to do…would you mind explaining the hip surgury…are you part awake or out cold/-about how long was surgury?…did you have to stay in the hospital a few nights…and was it strictly the arthritis that caused the pain? I wonder why your RA doc didn’t check your hip with an Xray and MRI? What kind of pain killer did they advise? Just saw a doc who said you have to have pain..severe pain in the groin before you jump to surgury….wondered if you heard that… I just did and have been wondering around
For info for a year…thks!

Hi, it's called Anterior hip replacement surgery. I was out cold but didn't have general anesthesia. I had spinal anesthesia and something called twilight anesthesia. I went home the same day....after hours in recovery. The surgery only lasted 1.5-2 hours. I did have xrays and an MRI showing the arthritis. (Osteoarthritis) And I did have alot of pain! Groin pain, hip pain, thigh pain and pain going down my whole leg. I also had nerve pain...keeping me awake at night. I used Tramadol after surgery... but pain was better after surgery than before! The pain after surgery was just from the incision. I did not have pain when walking. They wanted to prescribe me Oxycodone after surgery but I didn't want it. The surgery and recovery were a breeze! Highly recommended it!
