Has Anyone Had Success with TMS Therapy?
Has anyone had success with TMS Therapy? I have just completed 12 out of 36 sessions but do not, yet, feel any relief from my treatment resistant depression and anxiety. If you’ve had success, how long did it take before you started noticing an improvement in symptoms?

Hello,
I've had great success with TMS for treatment-resistant depression. I first had TMS treatment about six years ago and had my longest remission ever from severe depression. The depression returned this fall, and I completed a second treatment about two months ago, again with success. In this treatment, I started feeling some relief about three weeks into treatment. And it kept improving. I recall the doctor saying it might take until near the end of treatment to get relief. I wish you well on this journey.
Hi!
Thank you so much for replying to my question so quickly. Hearing of your success twice with TMS gives me much hope.
I’m so happy you are doing well and I wish you continued good mental health.
Thank you again for answering my question and for being so kind and compassionate!
Happy to hear it was helpful. Those of us with depression need to support one another. I'm glad you are trying TMS, and I hope it is as successful for you as it was for me!
Thank you! It is definitely comforting having the support of others who understand .
There’s nothing better, than having support from other people, who have been, or are going through severe depressive illness! It can be so debilitating in many ways, and having even just one person, who has the same diagnosis, understand, is a blessing!

ellemccope,
I did the first round of TMS and it was successful for 4-5 months. Then my
depression returned. I did a second treatment without any success at all.
You should try it and hope it works for you. Sorry to tell you how it worked and
not work for me.
I hope you have better luck than me.
Pete
Hi, Pete -
Thank you very much for sharing your TMS therapy experience with me. I’m so very sorry the 2nd round of treatment was not successful. Have you found any other treatment to help you?
ellemccope,
I had to get back on Sertraline (Zoloft) and Lorazepam (Ativan).
I am managing fairly well. I try to stay on 3 Lorazepam a day. I take the 3rd Lorazepam at bedtime. Unfortunately, they stop working in the morning anytime from 4 AM when I wake up, the awful depression always hits me. Often I take half a Lorazipam to help till about 9:30 AM. Then I take my regular 1 pill of Zoloft and Lorazepam. The rest I take spaced out during the day. I want to retire, but my brother wants to drop at his bench. I'm 80 he's 90. So this is causing the majority of my depression. We argue a lot about this.
Try to take it a day at a time even with this damn sickness swirling around in our heads.
I really, really hope that you find a solution to your problems and get some
of the fun? part back in your life.
Good Luck.
