You and your husband are working well together, and I hope his stuffiness is just from the weather. My meds (sinemet) make me sleepy, too, but I try not to nap so I can sleep at night. I have noticed that I am quicker to snap at my husband, and I get anxiety and apathy on occasion. I am pretty sure the sinemet doesn't cause the anxiety, because it started before the Sinemet was prescibed, but the feeling of apathy is a new one. Probably more related to the PD.

From what I’ve read, I agree that apathy is a common symptom of Parkinson’s. Before I was diagnosed, it was one of the symptoms I noticed. I’ve also noticed daytime sleepiness, anxiety and occasional irritability as a side effect of the medication.

Thank you and God Bless you. I cannot imagine how you feel. I am sure that this was not what you were expecting. Apathy has been around since 2022. It has been hard having a question or a conversation with my spouse and he does not reply. I know he loves me. He is stubborn and tired of the new diagnosis's that pop up. It seems Parkinsons itself can intensify every new diagnosis!
