I appreciate all the conversations with regards to mesh complications and removal. I too am dealing with lots of pain and frustration but can't find a comfortable option. I am 68 years old and had an inguinal hernia operation a year ago in India where my wife and I were visiting. All felt fine for 9 months and then intense pain when walking and feelings of heat and sharp razor like pains. Now I can hardly walk and a new hernia is popping out. I have read lots of problems as well with the mesh and that there is a Deserdia hernia clinic in India that uses natural tissue not tension hernia repairs. However in my situation because of my age and large size hernia, it might be dangerous to take out the present mesh and replace it. Also the cost is $5000. I have been warned that there could be complications such as the removal of testicles and also injury to the Cremaster muscle. I would look forward to any discussion and hopeful solutions to my present misery.
