Tart cherry juice

Hi
I would like to hear from people that have tried tart cherry for inflammation. My doctor recently put me on celebrex I can't take it. It makes me dizzy nauseated and gives me diarrhea. In my breast cancer support group people talk About tart cherry helping with inflammation.

sue417, I know that it is good for gout and recommended often. I believe it comes in tablets as well. It is very strong, so if you try it you may have to dilute it. It's worth a try.

I hope that it works well for you. Praying for you & Blessings....

Tart Cherry Juice has greatly reduced frequency due to an inflamed bladder. Expensive but worth it.

YES!!!!!! @sue417 It was a MIRACLE! I got the idea from someone here. I have been recommending it. TOTAL MIRACLE! I use Zazzee I found on Amazon. I looked at others and didn't think they were what I needed. IT WORKED OVERNIGHT! It lowered my uric acid levels into the normal range! Be sure you ask for a lab test before starting so you can see the difference yourself!!! I can't type enough capital words and exclamation points! I have been meaning to start a thread on it here. @c101 YES to the inflamed bladder and Interstitial Cystis!!!! I just realized there was a connection two days ago! Why don't the dang urologist know this?! The Zazzee is only $20 for about 90 days so I think its reasonably priced. @covidstinks - I have used black cherry juice for 20 years for gout flares and I don't know if you've ever had a gout flare but STRONG is what is needed to avoid the massive pain and hospital visits. The black cherry juice is the SAME price as when I bought it 20 years ago - about $8 a bottle for the knudsen brand. However, I only needed during flares. This last bottle sat for 8 years before I opened it in the spring. I only use 4 ounces in a 32 ounce jar of water/7up with a tbsp of lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. I flush and the pain goes away after a few hours.
Turns out that my INFLAMMATORY PAIN IS A RESULT OF HIGH URIC ACID and not OSTEO ARTHRITIS!!!! So the stupid doctors misdiagnosed my riddled body with OA and not GA!!!! This is because all the xrays show a body riddled with OA. But the pain is due to the GA inflammation! This past year was intense and I asked for RA testing again. Nothing showed up in the labs. However, I was having low-level gout pains (big toe/finger joint) and was severely stiff with inflammatory pain. (whole-body).
Turns out I had accidentally been eating too much purines so I was raising my uric acid levels and causing inflammation. I did not know because I had been eating purine-low diet for 15 years (at least) but lowering my cholesterol required foods I didn't know were purine-laden and hadn't eaten enough of before. Things like sardines, salmon, shrimp, spinach and oat products were all back in my diet. (they did an EXCELLENT job dropping my cholesterol 65 points in a few months!)
Just yesterday I picked up the allopurinol pills. I don't know if I will stay on them because they have lactose in them and I am intolerant. I will see if I get tummy aches. So far, overnight it was a success!!!
I woke up GREAT!!! even with the cold fog here. (normally a killer) The Celebrex can be taken AS NEEDED and it no longer works for me -- because my inflammatory problem is from the gout now. Celebrex ALSO has lactose. I take lactase pills when I take the medicine to break down the lactose I can't process. Celebrex DID work when nothing would take down the inflammatory pain, but it's not working anymore. I might take one every 3 months. I'm just thrilled I am finding answers after 30 years, honestly! And I'm lucky to have a doctor who will work with me on things. (she's probably happy she doesn't have to spend time doing the research!)
YES to the SUCCESS. 😉

Hi - You mentioned "Black" Cherry Juice. Black and Red have different properties. I have always heard that the Tart Cherry Juice is used for Gout. So did you really mean Black Cherry Juice or did you mean Tart Red"?

Back when the cherry juice was mentioned to me in 2005? there was no "tart cherry" juice. And only the specific brand Knudsen Black Cherry was recommended for gout remedy. The reason was that it was not reconstituted and there was no added sugar. That was always why it was the most expensive - the quality. The Mayo Clinic Forum recommendation was for the tart cherry capsules. I determined the Zazzee brand would be best. It was!
