Hi I am taking name brand
And I was recently told my thyroid numbers are now perfect but not my weight!
She does not want to discuss my weight issue.
I don’t know what to do?

Perhaps it might be worth making an appointment with an internist or another medical specialist that would look at other possibilities of what could be causing weight gain. If there is an underlying cause other than thyroid disorder, a checkup with another type of doctor for a complete physical evaluation probably would be something to consider.

That is a good point that lioness made about prednisone. There are other drugs that cause weight gain too, so if you take others meds beside synthroid, checking their side-effects would be a good idea.

@joanmurphy Why does she not want to discuss weight? When I lost a lot of weight I asked my PCP how much more he thought I should lose. He said about five pounds! I lost about 20 more though, and my BMI was still above 25.
I have read that as a person ages it is good to have a few spare pounds, helps them if they get sick, so I will be happy with what I lost, and am working to get back there. I an about 7 or 8 pounds more than that now.
