Catherine,
I’m also on the gem/doc treatment & entering 2nd year of monthly treatments. BCG didn’t work for me. So far the cancer hasn’t returned. I have some side effects but are manageable. As someone else stated you are your best advocate. I hope it goes well for your husband.
Thank you for the information. I am very happy the cancer has not returned and sorry you have to go through this.
It seems like such a long road… 2 years
I guess we should be thankful there is treatment no matter how long the road.❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for the "hug."
Hi. I was diagnosed with same. Had two turbt surgeries to remove tumor
Had 6 BCG immune therapy treatments. Cancer free in August. Just finishing 3bcg
maintenance treatments.
All started in April. Not a pleasant process but necessary and the standard. You need to have faith in your urologist. Cancer is highly reoccurring so you need to be consistent in checkups. Doable. Good luck
Hi
I’m here for support. My husband has the noninvasive high grade bladder cancer. He’s 53. We were totally blindsided by this diagnosis. Been dealing a little over a year with this. It’s totally changed and disrupted our lives. He’s had 5 surgeries, 6 BCG and a chemo after a surgery in September. It’s not slowing down. I’m stuck in an anger/grieving stage. It doesn’t help that I’m an RN and never get a break from sick or ailing people with various complaints all day. Any advice for him or me is welcome. I feel like I am losing control over this and have already lost my big strong husband as this has changed him so much. Prayers to all. Thank
You.
@backroadsbarbie, you and your husband have a tough row to hoe! I'm sure bladder caner wasn't in your plans and I can understand the overwhelming emotions of anger, grief and resentment. It's NOT fair.
Have you thought of reaching out to an oncology social worker? Here's more information:

You don't have to deal with this on your own. You're an RN and you support sick people and you're used to being in control. But now it's your turn to get support. Talking to someone can help reframe hope and discover the things you can take charge of.
I bet your husband is grieving too. He still wants to be your big strong husband, your protector and provider. Have you said some of those things out loud together?
Hi all I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I'm 63 and notice my groin had been bothering me but before that I made a appt to have them do a check on my prostate. Told I have cancer. Now to begin my travel with cancer
Hi from Canada. I was just told I have bladder cancer. I'm 63 and was shocked too. I don't smoke and very reality drink. Shock to me and my family. My road begins to make it disappeared and live my life longer.
