I hope so
@roryc, interesting question. Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) treatment is a very effective treatment for some types (i.e., early stage) bladder cancer, especially in combination with TURBT. Like most treatments for cancer, there are side effects that your healthcare team can help you manage.
Quite a few members in the forum have had BCG, like @ggarrepy @plugger @ljashton @momforbracknkik @rjlpool502 @scott232 @skind6 and many more. While we wait for others to weigh in with their experiences, you may appreciate the posts in these 2 related discussions:

@roryc, what is your treatment plan? What concerns do you have about BCG?
First treatment dec.2 don't have a clue what to expect. In small town in northern Ontario. Any insight?
BCG did not work for me. I had treatment for about 18 months and my cancer became invasive and had to have my bladder removed. Over time cancer showed up in a lymph node and I was treated with chemotherapy for four months and then immunotherapy for two years. Good news is my cancer is in remission and I am off treatment.
Is there a alternative?
