I just felt achy for a few days; not bad at all. The nurse at the infusion center suggested that administering the drug through the IV for a longer amount of time / slower drip is sometimes helpful in addressing the side effects after. (I'm not sure if this is verified by science.) I drank a few extra glasses of water beforehand. Tylenol helped after also!

I had 2 Reclast infusions over 2 years, then went back to osteopenia. The third year I was on a drug holiday, with a bone density scan scheduled for the end of the year. But then 10 months after my second Reclast infusion I fell and fractured my pelvis and hip (non-displaced fractures; healed on their own in 3 months). Now my endocrinologist wants me to start taking Forteo (self-injecting shots every day for 2 years), followed by another drug.

It's very hard to make these decisions as to what to do, even though my doc has an excellent reputation!

I agree, it seems there are so many different drugs and a lot of times you need another prescription due to a prescription. My prolia caused cholesterol to go up so now on a prescription for that also. Wishing you the best and Happy Holidays!
