@hardtailsmsncom1, I'm tagging fellow members @rjlpool502 @moose63 @esop @mamabear2 who can share how long they were on Keytruda for bladder cancer and if they started a new treatment option after stopping.

@hardtailsmsncom1, what treatment option is being suggested for you now?

I was on chemo for four months and then Keytruda for two years. This past June I had a PET scan and my cancer was in remission. My oncologist stopped treatment. I had another scan in September and all is good. Will get a scan every four months and hopefully cancer will stay in remission. If and when it returns, my doctor says he feels Keytruda will again work for me and possibly use in combination with some new medication. Hope and pray treatment will work for you. Moose63.

I am new to this forum . After my fourth installment of Keytruda I developed a severe rash on my back and chest . Keytruda was stopped after that . My doctor has switched to ADSTILADRIN and had my first installment on November 4 , Cysto in 3 weeks . The treatment was tough due to holding in my bladder for 1 hour with tremendous pressure . Ed

Welcome, @eddiesil. Holding a full bladder is really hard. As you prepare for your upcoming cystectomy, you might appreciate the comments in this discussion:

Did Adstiladrin work better for you than Keytruda?

@eddiesil, that's a hard question to answer - what's worse BCG or chemo? - since everyone is different. There are several members, like @rjlpool502 @sepdvm @ljashton, who have experience with both types of treatment.

Hopefully < I will hear from them soon .. Eddiesil

My husband did a second round of BCG which did not work. The Chemo combination of gemcitabine and docetaxel has worked so far. He’s been through one six-week course and after two cystos and monthly maintenance treatments, he’s remained cancer free. He has a high grade non invasive form like so many others who post here, so there is a chance of recurrence. Cancer free since June. The side effects are much less with chemo(no burning, fever- yet still some tiredness and ache).
I know BCG can be hard to acquire and not all clinics can do the chemo combination. The clinic he used for BCG wasn’t able to do the chemo recommended by Mayo so we found another clinic that did offer it in Kansas City.
Hope that info helps.
