Joyce, I hope you are well. How did your surgery go on August 19, 2024? Any tips for at home recovery?

Hi! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It has been 4 months since my surgery and I am doing well. I have lost a total of 72 pounds since February of this year. I have lost 42 pounds since my surgery. I am currently down 2 pants and 2 shirt sizes and feel so much better. I finally gave away my bigger sweatshirts and donated many pairs of pants to Good Will.
I have had some difficulty meeting the 80grams of protein, but I know I am getting over 60grams for sure. I get plenty of liquids in during the day having water, protein water, protein drinks, diet juices, and broth that I add protein powder to. I have had some trouble with dumping syndrome due to some foods don't agree with me. I have lost my sense of taste for certain foods, and found I cannot eat a lot of bread. I have to cut the crust off and if I have a burger, I can only eat half of it if I eat the bun. I can't eat much of anything with a lot of sugar. Dumping Syndrome!!! I get the runs!
I fell in my living room a couple of weeks ago, and hurt my ribs, after tripping over my dogs doggie steps. Hurt my ribs! Been trying to do some exercises in bed, but I am limited right now until I start feeling better.
I have seen my surgeon as scheduled, and she is very happy with my results. My kidney doctor did put me on Potassium as it was low when I was tested about a week later.
