I’ve been taking Ocreotide for 18 months, I get 2 shots every 28 days, outside of being tired and nauseous, the only substantial side effect I get is respiratory. I did however get severe dizzy spell’s nauseous and frequent vomiting in September .. ( about 2 weeks after the injections ). I went to the emergency room, and I was told it was vertigo.. I’ve since had injections and no dizzy spells… Does your Dr. believe it’s caused by the shots? I hope you get the answers your looking for..

1 ReactionThank you
I hope I get answers soon
I have had 8 episodes since 7/8
I originally thought it was from my PRRT treatments but I think it isn’t
Tomorrow I see my cardiologist
Hopefully he can figure something out
My last episode was the worst because I was driving when it hit me like a ton of bricks
Thank goodness I didn’t get into an accident
Again thank you and all my best

1 Reaction@vinnie694 What do you mean by respirators? I'm experiencing worsening allergies and asthma, something I haven't experienced in over twenty years.

1 Reaction@icatoi I have a respiratory reaction to the shots. Shallow breathing, feels like I’m going to suffocate, swollen face puffy eyes.. I was in the emergency room 20 minutes after my first shots, I’ve been taking Benadryl, and now Zyrtec before every shot to avoid the reaction

4 ReactionsI have dizzy spells that I mainly attribute to cabozantinib, but who knows? For octreotide they recently switched to a different brand with different needles and now I hip soreness for days afterwards. Other than that no major effects.

1 ReactionThis discussion is interesting because I also get the Octreotide shot monthly for the past 12 months. I do not have any side effects that I am aware of (other than the discomfort at shot site for a few days) but when respiratory symptoms were mentioned, I question whether the my shortness of breath and cough could be a symptom or not? This has only been present the last 6 months.

2 Reactions@apain When I asked the nurse why shot site pain would be worse she said they were using a new formula. It was thicker than the old one so they had to use larger needles.
