I’m not certain yet. Don’t have an appointment with Kidney Dr until February. This diagnose was from primary care dr stage 3.

@ashleyckd3 I have been "stage 3" for many years and the PCP never mentioned it and I did not see a nephrologist. Then I had a sudden drop in eGFR (55 to 36) and a new autoimmune diagnosis so I saw a nephrologist finally.

Many of us are stage 3 as we age. Depending on 3a or 3b, severity varies and also fluctuates.

A healthy e -GFR is >59. Do you have a record of your comprehensive metabolic panel with creatinine based eGFR?

Hydration can play a big role in lowering the eGFR.

There is another GFR called a Cystatin C that is less affected by various factors (blood pressure, muscle activity etc. can affect the other one). My Cystatin C has been more stable and still around 50.
