Eyes - burst blood vessels?

Posted by janetorcas @janetorcas, 2 days ago

I am frequently (twice monthly or more) having burst blood vessels in my eyes. Not sore, itchy, or goopy. Just disturbing to look at. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Hello @janetorcas, From what I've read a subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessel in the eye) is not normally serious but if you are having recurrent ones, you should see an eye doctor. Mayo Clinic has some information on the topic here - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/subconjunctival-hemorrhage/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20353832.

@fue, @di341 and @jeckyel have mentioned broken blood vessels in the eye and may have some information to share with you. Have you seen an eye doctor yet?

Do you sneeze often? I had that cause a burst blood vessel in my eye for the first time ever a few months ago. I had no idea. A coworker pointed it out as it happened while at the office and I hadn't been to the restroom so didn't notice it in the mirror.

I also have spontaneous eye blood vessels burst for no apparent reason. It's a mystery so far.

I've had blood leak under the skin, under one eye from the inside corner but not into the eye. Looked like a black eye.
Very strange.
