Not sure my story directly applies, but due to me having light-headedness spells, pressure in my head, etc., I went in for an MRI. No tumors! but packed sinuses with polyps. Went to ENT specialist, did a cat-scan of sinuses, & Front sinuses 100% blocked. Surgery today to rotor-rooter them out and re-set a crooked septum that's blocking 1/2 my airway. Hopefully this will open my head up and eliminate my dizzy spells. I'll let you know.

For a bad cough, other than what's been posted here with acid-refulx, I suggest seeing an ENT (ear/nose/throat) Dr. My sinuses are so packed that nothing is coming out through my nose; all going down my throat. Not causing bad coughs, but none the less. Good luck.

I had that surgery back in the 80s for migraine headaches but it never helped. With age I finally outgrew them or not working less stress. I still have allergic Rhinitis which can also cause congestion in your nose. I take a decongestant and antihistamine such as Zyrtec!

Just an update. Sinus surgery went great. Was unbelievable how open my airway was after they removed the splints. I can't remember when I ever was able to breath like that. Now well see if all the issues disappear.

Hello @texas7777, I am Jamie, moderator for Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat. I would like to Thank you for coming back and letting us know how your Sinus surgery went. It’s nice to hear follow up comments from patients after seeking care. My husband also had surgery and his first comment after having splints removed was- “I can breathe better than I ever have”. I believe those dealing with sinus issues learn to cope and forget something as simple as breathing through your nose is so amazing. Are you still doing well post operatively?

still doing great. I agree with your husband, it is amazing when the stints come out. Been congested, getting cleared up, but no complaints. Had to get on an antibiotic/decongestant to help clear me out, but even with the congestion, it's still 50% better than I've ever been. Can't wait to feel as good as I did the day he removed the splints/cleaned me out. It was life changing. No more headaches, no dizzy spells, and overall better health. Hope it stays that way.
