I just learned that I was exposed to it by identification of my one tick’s DNA (adult make lone star tick). But being exposed doesn’t mean you have it. I have had no symptoms yet. Some docs (mine) refused to order doxycycline until a symptom(s) appear, and others believe in going ahead immediately as preventative medicine.

I don’t know which protocol Mayo Clinic’s Infectious Disease physicians promote. And is there divergence within the department? Unfortunately, I live no where near Mayo or their two satellites (AZ and FL) or I would go there for a second opinion.
