Has anyone had lung metastases?
My CT scan report notes two modules in my right lobe “suspicious for….”
A small one had been seen in the past and then disappeared. This morning I read there are now 2.
I am interested to know how you may have been treated for this type of metastases. I will have a current CA19-9 result in a few days and now may ask to run the Signatera test as well.
Your thoughts and insights appreciated!

Hello gamaryanne,
I had one in my lungs recently and it turned out to be from infection. My oncologist ordered a PET scan to verify whether it was benign or not. Praying for you; mine was benign for metastasis.
I have two modules in my lungs as well. They started me on gemabrax chemo but my blood wasn’t recuperating well and I kept going into the hospital with fevers. Because of my gene mutation I qualified for A new drug called Lumakras. My CA 19 nine went up just from 30 to 39 so they took a pet scan and found the nodules shrunk! So anything can happen! Wishing you well!
Thanks to all that have replied. I suppose a PET scan would get to the bottom of this quickly.
I will have a blood draw tomorrow for Signatera CT DNA testing.
@marciak9-which gene mutation so you have? Is the therapy you are on a clinical trial or FDA approved drug?
I have the gene mutations KRAS and G12C. The drug I’m on is FDA approved. It’s been available since 2021. It was initially developed for lung cancer but they found it works on pancan with certain mutations. I’ll keep taking it until it doesn’t work anymore. The only side affect so fast is back pain. I take a lot of oxy for that.
Also, when I thought I might have a cancerous nodule in my right lung, I asked if SBRT (MRIdean), could be done on lungs (at that time my nodule was just under 1cm), and was told yes. I did end up getting it on my liver lesion. I think it worked (my last CA19/9 was 16), but won’t know for sure if it was destroyed until my meeting in early December with radiologist at city of Hope, Irvine. They are plenty of facilities on East Coast who do this procedure. I had almost no side effects after my 3 sessions, just done nausea and tiredness (but dr Lee insisted I stay on chemo during the 3 sessions so who knows if side effects were from chemo or SBRT.
@mnewland99
Thank you, yes. SBRT was recommended for a small area of margin that was suspicious but now resolved with this trial drug. I have been told it’s a solid option once tumors exceed 1cm. Since they are in bottom lobe I may definitely consider. It’s all a waiting game isn’t it?!
Yes, when my nodule grew 1.5cm in 6 weeks (after already measuring 1cm before), is when the dr did the bronchoscopy/biopsy. You just hope that the dr in charge is picking the right amount of time to wait. When do you get your CA19-9?
This week CA19-9 it is 35. 3 weeks ago 31. Before that 36 and 44 so was definitely trending down.
Would love if histotripsy could get possible for lung so less invasive!
