Fluid in endometrium
Last year I had fluid in the endometrium that was found incidentally when having an ultrasound and CT scan for kidney stones. There was no free fluid and the lining wasn’t thickened but they drained the fluid and had it biopsied anyway it came back negative and nothing more was said.
Last week I had another ultrasound for kidney stones and fluid was found in the endometrium again. Now I have to go back to the gynecologist as my doctor recommends. Has anyone had this happen? Why is it happening? Should I just ignore it because I would’ve never known this was happening had I not had a test for another condition . Is this common after menopause? I am totally confused by the way women are treated after menopause. Told internal exams are no longer needed. I don’t know if doing so would have revealed this sooner. Any help appreciated.

Anyone?
@sandrajane I'm terribly sorry that your original post of January 28 did not have any responses. It's good that you posted again to bring your original concerns back up.
I am 72-years-old and have not experienced this. When you say that the fluid was "negative" did the pathology report make comments on what the content of the fluid is? What kind of cells? And how much fluid? I'm also curious what your gynecologist meant by "internal exams no longer needed". Does this mean ultrasound? Or no more pelvic exams? A local nurse practitioner in gynecology told me that Pap smears were no longer necessary for me but that I should return on a regular basis for pelvic exams.
I'd recommend getting another opinion from a different gynecologist. I agree that there are providers who don't give our post-menopausal health enough emphasis. Will you inquire in your community about a gynecologist who sees post-menopausal women?
