@mimioto, Thank You very much! I have Ulcerative Colitis for past 10 yrs. I am on immunosuppressant drug Humira for it and was doing well. In 9/2023, I had COVID. Since then I have seen to 2 different ENT, GI, Pulmonologist and gone to Urgent Care and Primary Care several times. I have CT scan of Sinus, blood work, CT scan of Chest, Breathing Test, Endoscopy with Bravo and Colonoscopy, ENT did not prescribed anything. Pulmonologist initially said it is covid induced Asthma. GI says I have acid issue (LPR) but not too bad. She found H. Pylori and treated for it. I get hoarseness, cough and thick white phlegm that is always back of my throat that I have to keep clearing out. It accumulates and once or twice in a day comes out in a thick yellow form. I am miserable for 3-4 hours until I can cough that out. She says cough/mucus is a different issue than LPR. Going to allergist/immunologist tomorrow. I printed out your details to show her. Currently, I take Enzymes (1 or 2 per day), NAC (1 pill), Claritin (1 pill) and Mucinex (1 pill). I may increase dosage slowly. I will start taking Famotodine as I did not tolerate Omeprazole (lowers acid too much and gets burping and belching). I will update you next steps as it seems like there is some similarities in our condition and symptoms. Thanks Again.

It may also help to know that it appears to be a mast cell activation problem. My bloodwork did not confirm mast cell activation syndrome- MCAS. However, it’s apparent that there mast cell involvement, histamines, 1&2 in stomach and head/sinuses, and cytokines in upper respiratory. In my case leukotrienes in the lungs seem ok, tg. Covid was the trigger, causing my immune system to go into overdrive. I call it a mast cell party going on!
