Hi, yes, after seeing Allergy/Immunology, first I found that have allergies I’ve never had before. Some vegetables (that’s weird I’ve always loved veggies, but I find most of them don’t really affect me. The ones that do are walnuts, pecans and soy (the worst). I started on Cromolyn Sodium, a liquid, 10ml, that mixes with water, taken 4x/day on an empty stomach (minimum 2 hrs after eating) 20-30 minutes before meals and at bedtime. Also an H2 blocker, Famotodine 20 or 40mg depending on the meal or cimetidine 200 mg. That worked amazingly well for me, as in the best to date since 8/2022. That was in early May. Then in July I had an EGD, upper endoscopy and they found numerous ulcers in my stomach and one in my esophagus (weird no heartburn but bad chest pain) So that doc said continue the cromolyn and take 50 mg esomeprazole, 1/day. I’ve found I cannot tolerate that after about 5 weeks (kidney eGFR was dropping fast and a respiratory allergic response) so I went back to the H2 blockers. I’ll see GI again this week to discuss further treatment because really, I still have problems. The ball of phlegm is no longer always in my throat but I must still have reflux because I still get excess mucous production in my upper chest and head and sinuses, followed often by hoarseness and a nagging cough, and I find it really doesn’t matter what I eat. Last month I had a sinus lift following my dentists finding of a low sinuses on the left side. It has helped with the thick mucous accumulation. A new ENT also did a CT scan and there are other problems in my sinuses including a deviated septum and something else that a surgery may or may not resolve so that’s a possibility. More than what you asked for? Lol, me too, and I’m so sick of it but it just keeps going on and on. Good luck to you.
