Side Effects of Evenity?

@dollieg

I discontinued Evenity after the 5th injection. I will not be taking any drugs currently available for osteoporosis treatment (my choice and my decision). My legs are starting to peel the dry damaged skin that had left me with leg skin looking like the skin of a lizard; slightly raised but it kept getting harder and was shedding like my skin was burned and I had dandruff of the legs. Lotions and items like Vaseline have not helped to add any moisture to the damaged leg areas. The itching just continues on. The bone pain during sleep has has gone away but the muscles in my legs and arms were weakened following the fifth injection. I still have muscle spasms in my lower legs and arms and hands. I have Hyperparathyroidism.and am not able to take supplemental calcium in any form as I have too much calcium in my blood.
My back pain is worse than it ever has been and I just returned to physical therapy two times a week.
The worst part of these side effects is an abundance of fatigue which started early following the third Evenity injection. The fatigue has not let up and it has been difficult to accomplish daily goals I set for myself as to household chores, running errands and grocery shopping.
I do not know if any gains were made by taking Evenity for five months.

When is your next DEXA scan, to see if you made any improvements? I hope your side effects go away soon. I am debating what drugs to take for my severe osteoporosis. I can't take Tymlos or Forteo because I have parathyroid issues. So that leaves Evenity followed by Fosamax or something similar.

Dear @dollieg , I’ve checked my bone density after 5 months and it’s got worse. Not sure if this helps. My doctor wants me to finish all 12. My back pain is behind control. I am probably going to have one more and after this I must have a second opinion about counting or to go on something else. Also she told me that I can have Tymlos after finishing Evenity but every source I been reading telling me that this is not a right sequence. I have severe osteoporosis and debilitating back pain and not a lot of help from doctors, unfortunately.
