Thanks for the welcome. I have a great husband, wonderful animals that calm me. Ice cream, most specifically Blue Bunny Mini ice cream cones (with caramel). I try to take my mind of of it with coloring. I started this before it became a fad.

Hi @JustinMcClanahan , thank you for suggesting the site, I will definitely check it out! And, thank you, with reaching out to help. It does mean a lot to me, I am truly grateful. I don't mind questions! My activities in the winter for pain distraction are light housekeeping, snuggling with my 2 cats, my sanity keepers!, and baking for others, when I'm able. In the spring, I enjoy gardening, although, besides the known pain, my balance has gotten much worse, which causes me to fall. I normally end up sitting in the flowers amongst the bees, so far friendly bees! I used to enjoy going for walks, although now, I must have someone with me.. I recently purchased trekking poles so I can take walks by myself. I'm ready to try out the poles. One activity I did take up last spring was voice lessons. I do love to sing, however the multi surgeries did a number on my gag reflex, also swallowing. The lessons did help with strengthening, but I needed to suspend the lessons due to my financial situation vs medical bills. It Will get better..
What type of guitar music do you enjoy playing, @JustinMcClanahan? Again, thank you.

Your post almost brings me to tears for both good and bad reasons. I can not imagine having no support, but actual passive aggressive behavior towards my maladies is unimaginable. that makes me want to cry for you and then I want to cry for all of the amazing support I get from my spouse. Please use us for support that you are not finding at home. It is certainly not as comforting, but is better than being alone and isolated with your pain.

I am so sorry for the lack of support from your hubby. I really don't know what I would do if I didn't have mine to help take care of me and our household. Right now I am pretty much chair bound so it is up to him to do the household chores without me.
Sadly, there are many, many people who feel the way your husband does.

Hi 19th Kim a nurse also but learned long time ago Dr,s don't know everything so I started looking at herbs@homeopathic Stuided them since the 70,s ,we are hear because we all have and know about fibromyalgia ,you flu d a good place for fibro people ,we understand

Ice cream is my downfall, I would like to get back into shape

Mine as well, set up plating lines for the first 15 years, plus keeping 6 persons with hardware to rack. I loved doing it I moved all day.....

I have chronic pain also. I have been to five neurosurgeons tell me I need a rod, plate, screws and a fusion. I have declined as one told me I wouldn't be able to bend over to feed dogs, etc. I live in pain. I am so afraid the screws would only make my osteoporosis worse, fall out, etc. I also have fibromyalgia/ Need surgery on nose to be able to breathe. I have depression. The list goes on. People only laugh when I say I need surgery from my nose to my toes. Oh, I forgot to tell you my toes have decided to curve like a question mark, making me walk on my ingrown toe nails. Since I can hardly breathe, oh, yes, I have sleep apnea. Also, had one saliva gland removed and have Sjogrens Syndrome, dry mouth, full of cotton and it ain't cotton candy!

Same thing at my home. I'm a complainer who never feels good according to my mate.
Last year he had a operation
It was shall we say in a very delicate area of his body. Oh my.. goodness......he said he was in so much pain, he practically needed someone to blow his nose for him.
He was supposed to get up and walk around the house at least every 1.5- 2 hours.
He expected me to wait on him hand to foot. I couldn't nor shouldn't do it. The doctor wanted him up and about. It prevents blood clots. He asked me for this and that. I said you need to get up and move around. I never ask him for even a glass of water. My dear Mother had a saying, "Those who can't "see" have to "feel". Oh he felt alright. Now, he "sees" my pain a little more.

@memo most men can't stand pain it's funny when I was helping a 3yr old who had a cut on his check my son went in the other room ,men are a different breed
