Neuropathy: What works and what are scams?
I am new to this forum although I have been suffering with peripheral neuropathy for 2 years (none diabetic). Like most sufferers I have searched endlessly to find supplements that provide some relief and a possible cure. My search has proved how impossible this quest is and so expensive due to misleading adverts and down right scams.
What would be really helpful if members posted their experiences with supplements they’ve tried , which were useless/helpful or obvious scams. I am sure there must be some helpful supplements out there and we would all benefit if these were posted on this forum.

Hi @heisenberg34, There are some members who have found that Myofascial Release Therapy has helped. There is a discussion on the topic here:
-- Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) for treating compression and pain:

Thanks, John. I will look into it.
Did gabapentin work for you? I've never heard about Oxcarbezeprine. Thanks.
I take 1500 mgs a day . I was down to 800 mgs per day . I was unloading my truck . I twisted my low back and reinjured where i had surgery . Now my right foot is really miserable again .
One of the biggest scams that I have seen is chiropractic clinics advertising being able to reverse neuropathy . They bring you in cheap . They then runs their voodoo tests . They then show you a plan to help you . They then hit you up for several thousand dollars . I had this happen to me . I went to Dakota clinic of Chiropractic . When I balked at the price . The female staff said and I quote " It is your feet that are going to get amputated . A real class act . Stay away from that clinic. Also beware when you see the ads running for this type of help .
I am currently receiving Scrambler therapy, having completed 3 sessions of a 10 session regimen. Although still in the early stages of treatment, I am experiencing some increased feeling in my feet. I am hopeful that the full treatment will provide some level of relief.
I have run into those types of scams. My favorite was the chiropractor who was part of an organization called Disc Centers of America. First red flag: didn't like the quality of my MRI that had not shown anything terrible. Then, he sent me to an imaging center(they owed him a favor) for a CT scan, I had to pay cash on the spot. Second red flag: we reviewed the CT scan. "look at that bulging disc! Man, there's more above. Good thing you got to me when you did". Third red flag: Twenty or thirty decompression treatments (not covered by insurance for thirteen thousand dollars. Fourth red flag: Wait! If you sign up today, the price will go down to nine thousand. And. we can set up the payments right here. i said. 'no thanks".
I'm eager to hear how this works for you. I only recently heard of scrambler therapy, and it sounded promising.
Mama Bear Oasis cream saved me! It’s the only thing that works for me! Definitely try it!!
Since I am already on this discussion, I would like to throw this out there. For the last year or so, my right big toe has been giving me issues. On occasion it will suddenly flare up in pain that feels like someone is driving a nail into it. Usually happens at night. Many nights I can't even have it under the covers in bed. I have to pull my right foot out and put it on top of the sheets. Recently it looks almost angry red at times. Crazy, right? This goes along with my severe PN and a bunch of other stuff. When the toes flare up, I will massage it for all my might. That seems to help a bit.
I am on all kinds of meds...tramadol, gabapentin, diclofenac K, and other non-pain related drugs. This toe thing is a less serious issue compared to my lower back pain that radiates down both legs right into my toes. Just curious if any of you fellow commenters have experienced this and what, if anything, worked for you.
Wishing you all a blessed day!
